Genting oh Genting ...

We did it again. this time took the famous old road. to my surprice ... gila babi ramai cyclist ...pergh BEST!!!.

The route was damm challenging and that explains the "ramainess" ... and i think it wasn't meant for newbies like me ...

After almost "terberak" , finally reached the end point to turn back. and i must thank sifu Faozi for keeping up with me ... kesian dia... he had to stop at several places to wait for me ... and mamat ni I tell u terror nak mampus ... relek je naik bukit and I know he can can go faster than that ...

on the way back where I got promoted ...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
ARRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!!! ..... SIBUK NAK MAMPUS .....

It's taking me a week to complete the story above ... well u ask for it. Siapa suruh tukar work scope??? Well I had to do it ... it is like when Tiger Woods decided to change his swing ... but frankly after 6 years, this is the best thing I have done ... (Nasib ada seorang monyet ... sangup take over my previous job)

Now not sure if I can go back for terawih ... well we all know no pain no gain .... but selagi boleh balik ...BALIK ...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To cut the above story short, I FELL. My handle bengkok, and i had some bruises. I got up to check the bike first and everything was functioning ok and i continued ...

By this time, Fouzi had gone far a head of me and when i met him later ... he had the best words ... he said " orang lepas jatuh selalunyer lebih laju ...." yea kee ... While having breakfast the pain started coming in and Fauzi offered to send me back ... i luv u man ...

I am ok now, just went to urut my arm ... and can't wait to get back ...

But thank GOD the accident is not bad. It could have been really BAD ...

By the way, in PM1's blog, he said someone really measured the Putrajaya distance and it is actually 22KM. So gua punya time should rightfully = 1.59/22 x 21.1 = 1 hr 52 mins. Wah! gila best ... I knew something was wrong in the last 5 km. This new news is emotionally very comforting ... hehehe ...

Putrajaya Half Marathon

I finally managed to wake up at 4.15am. However a few things didn’t go as fast as it should have been especially putting the contact lenses. So only managed leave the house at 5am. I had to stop for fuel and only after almost 10 mins of trying that those idiots told me that the credit card cannot be used. Ass holes …

After slamming the accelerators for about 40 mins I finally reached Putrajaya at about 6am. I was surprised to see a lot of empty parking lots. Parked and headed for the nearest building in search of toilets and as expected PJ is indeed flushed with toilets. Quickly did the businesses and prayed at an open area. Headed back to the car for the shoes and then only started stretching and warming up. Only managed the minimal and suddenly felt like peeing again. Fearing what happened in MPAJ run I headed again to the toilets and on the way back I heard a sound like a gun shot. It didn’t realized it was what it was and took my time running to the starting line … and everyone has left …. and I was the last to hand in the registration card. Kene lagi ….

At my fast pace (chewah!!!) I just kept overtaking other, suddenly one monkey pulled me to say hai. That caused me a few secs… hahaha (this monkey is my savior at my work place). I felt like the pros doing short distance overtaking the long distance runners at one point. You know when they just shoot by …

Everything was ok except I felt a bit full. I think I should have just taken half of the power bar. True enough I had a stomach cramp within 30 mins of starting. I just took deep breath and continued and after a while it was gone.

At 10km, timing was about 52 mins. I was ok and decided to take the double caffeine power gel and drank 2 cups of water. I felt like vomiting soon after taking it.. yucks!!!. Maybe too much water. Yes one thing about this year is there are plenty of water stations. I kept on burping. At 15km, timing was about 1.20mins and the dream of sub 2 hours was well within reach … I thought. If I kept my pace at 6mins/km, I would have complete it comfortably below 2 hours. This hope got stronger at every km marker after the 15km. at 18km my timing was 1.35. My immediate thought was even if I do 7mins/km I can still do it sub 2hours. We approached the mosque and I could see the crowd at the finishing line. As we approached the last traffic light, we were directed to make left turn.

Hantu betul!!!! …Suddenly I was lost. My timing was 1.40 then and I had no idea how far more to go. The distance marker after that all kaput … I had doubts already on finishing sub 2 hours. We kept on running and there were no turn anywhere in front. My mind was exhausted and I think what kept me going was my fellow runners. The turn finally came and my time was 1.55mins. Can I do it? I must have asked this question uncountable time in these last minutes. I just moved as fast as I could throwing all I got left and dashed thru the finishing line.

My time was 1.59.29 secs. I am sure the official time gone be 2.00.xx as the last participant to start. But as far as i am concern my time is 1.59.

All that trainings at 6am turns out to be worth while after all.

As it turns out this is my 1st anniversary run. A year ago I did 10km in 1.15mins and I was so disappointed of not getting any medal even though it was given to the 1st 500. Well, here I am today doing my 4th half marathon for my 6th medal (including the exclusive PJ half marathon medal) Not to brag ... kerek ... but I guess if we really want something, we got to work for it and god willing we’ll get it. I never thought within a year I could do all these plus the duathlon. I didn’t even had any plan or goal. I just wanted to know how far I could go before anything happen to me. To my surprise it has become a passion and obsession. Next is the powerman and hopefully the Singapore marathon thereafter.

ok picture time ...

yeah!!! with the 4th half medal ...

ada abang tulung ambik ... d ... finishing line ...

...errr self explanatory ... i notice one banner with a spelling error ...

Unfinish Businesses

Did I say the Karak wasn't very hilly and just nice ... I was blady wrong.

I have been having the vision of karak every day after the last ride. I was planning to go for an holiday it was suppose to start on Wed. There was a slot on that morning and I was contaplating wheather to run or to bike. I should have actually decided on the run to prepare for the PJ half but Karak was too sexy to turn down. I thought i can run on of the days during the holiday (yeah right!!!!)

So the mission started at 7am. Desination: GENTNG SEMPAH.

It was very enjoyable with less traffic. As passed the spot where I U-turned (the tractor was still there) I started wondering how far to go, I was damm tired already . The road started to become very hilly and it was very rare to experiace a downhill. It was a painfull climb. Then finally I saw the signboard... 5km to Genting Sempah. I thought ... tak lama lagi ... I was damm wrong again ....... This was when the horror started. It was hilly all the way... all 5 km. I was moving at 8km/hr + pain. Hantu betul ... (Lesson learned: don't make a quick judgement on the road, expect the worst)

The good news was ... no cramp. Yeah by the way had a good breakfast (cereal+milk bebe...) b4 the bike.

Finally I came to the Genting Highland/Aminudin Baki exit and had to come down the bike. The exit was another additional 20 degrees uphill. I was very satisfied with reaching the Genting exit and headed home.

Geting back home was piece of cake. It was all downhill. Top speed 63km/hr. Total distance covered 47km. Duration ~ 2 hours.

-------------------------------------------------

Penang was great. I have been there many times but never actually ate or stayed there. Visit always been on business.

This time off course the mission: MAKAN ....
